Simon-Kaloi Engineering, Ltd. (SKE), is a small business founded by Richard A. Simon and Dennis M. Kaloi in 1993. The company is a California Corporation. SKE manufactures over a dozen different products that include integrated sound, lighting and motion controllers, digital message repeaters, sound effect simulators, animatronic controllers, and the Simon Systems line of professional audio products. Customers include Sally Corporation, VP Productions, Knott's, Paramount Parks, well-known amusement parks, Lockheed Martin, Teledyne Scientific, and major recording studios and recording artists. SKE also offers electronic consulting services.
Design services cover virtually all aspects of electronics, including analog and digital circuitry, audio and video applications, various types of controllers, printed circuit board design, and packaging and manufacturing. SKE expertise also includes microprocessor, micro-controller, DSP, and computer hardware design. Software capabilities include programming languages such as assembly, C, and Visual Basic. SKE has successfully designed and built several hi-technology devices from cradle to grave in broad-ranging fields such as medical, military, defense, commercial, and industrial applications.
The company’s principals are the chief engineers. Mr. Simon received his BSEE from the University of Michigan in 1979. Since then he has worked for Ford Motor Company, Rockwell International, and SKE. Mr. Kaloi received his BSEE from the University of California at Northridge in 1980. Since then he has worked for Rockwell International, ISC Aerospace, and SKE. With over 85 years of combined engineering experience, Messrs. Simon and Kaloi have worked on numerous programs which include: Space Shuttle Main Engine Controller Electronics, Shuttle Orbiter Simulator Simulation (CADS II), Shuttle Interface Adapter (SIA), Space Station Electronics, National Aerospace Plane, Peacekeeper Missile, Kinetic Weapons Programs, Hawk Laser & TV Guided Missile Electronics, and Laser/Optics Signal Processing Electronics, Laser and Deformable Mirror Controllers.
SKE customers include Sally Corporation, Communications Manufacturing Company, Kavlico Corporation, The Boeing Company, Lockheed Martin, and Teledyne (formerly Rockwell) Scientific. Messrs. Simon and Kaloi hold two United States Patents. SKE has been the recipient of several awards including awards from NASA, Rockwell Scientific, and IAAPA.
